This tour takes you to Lake Mburo National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park, the most open savannah parks and off-the-beaten-track. This Uganda safari is ideal for someone with a short holiday tour looking for the ultimate safari destinations
You will depart from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and head to the western part of Uganda to Lake Mburo National Park. The drive takes 3 to 4 hours with a stopover at the Equator for an opportunity to stand in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres at the same time. You will continue through the savannah grasslands dotted with settlements, plantations and several herds of long-horned Ankole cattle endemic to this part of the country.
Upon arrival at Lake Mburo National Park, you will go for a 2-hour boat launch on Lake Mburo which is home to a variety of water animals such as hippos and crocodiles, as well as several bird species. Later, you will go on a late afternoon game drive in search of plains game like zebra, hippo, crocodile, eland, antelope, impala and a variety of birds. After the game drive, head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Wake up early for a hearty breakfast and then check out at the lodge.Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a boat ride on the Kazinga Channel, where you will see one of the largest concentrations of hippos and numerous crocodiles and buffaloes, among others. This channel attracts a variety of animals and bird species.
After lunch, proceed to the Kasenyi trail, where you may spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, antelopes, and, if lucky, leopards. Afterwards, we will transfer back to Kampala.
