Lake Mburo National Park offers stunning landscapes, from rolling hills and lush forests to savannah grasslands, seasonal swamps, and five serene lakes. These lakes are ideal for sport fishing, where you can catch large tilapia and other fish species, and they are also home to numerous hippos. The park is particularly renowned for its large zebra population. Begin your day with breakfast at your hotel in Kampala before being picked up by our driver-guide, who will provide a detailed briefing about your 2-day safari to Lake Mburo. You’ll then embark on a journey toward Western Uganda, passing through towns like Lyantonde and Masaka.
On the way, you’ll stop at Mpambire Drum Makers Village, where you’ll learn about and observe the traditional process of drum making by the locals. Upon arriving at Lake Mburo National Park, you’ll have lunch at a hotel or lodge of your choice before venturing along the park trails. As you explore, you’ll encounter a variety of wildlife, including elands, warthogs, buffaloes, zebras, and waterbucks.
In the evening, enjoy a boat ride on the lake, where you’ll have the chance to see animals like crocodiles, hippos, and topis, as well as birds such as fish eagles. Afterward, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Start your day with an early morning breakfast before heading out on a 3-hour game drive through the park. This drive will offer you a breathtaking view of the savannah and the park’s five lakes. You’ll spot a variety of animals, including buffaloes, antelopes, zebras, hyenas, topis, and hippos, along with numerous bird species perched on acacia trees and near the lake, filling the air with their melodious songs.
After the game drive, check out and begin your journey back to Kampala. You’ll stop in Masaka for lunch and at the Equator for photos before continuing to Kampala, where you’ll arrive in the afternoon.
