This affordable gorilla trekking experience in Rwanda offers you a rare opportunity to observe these magnificent creatures. The package includes a 2-night stay at a budget-friendly lodge near the park’s headquarters, one gorilla trekking adventure, and round-trip airport transfers.
You will arrive at Kigali Airport and transfer directly to the lodge. If you arrive late in the day, you will need to add a pre-night in Kigali. Let us know if we should add this overnight to the tour. You will be transferred by road from the airport to the lodge. You will check in and relax, walk in the gardens, and enjoy the nature around you. Dinner is included and you’ll have an early night in preparation for your trek tomorrow.
You will wake up early and transfer to the park headquarters in time for the briefing. The park rangers allocate the different groups. You will depart on the most amazing trek in search of mountain gorillas. You can hike for several hours depending on the gorillas’ location. In order to ensure the long-term viability of the gorilla population, once spotted, you will be limited to one hour of observation. You will get the opportunity to see young apes playing with one another, mothers nursing and silverbacks overseeing their pod. You’ll return to the headquarters and transfer back to the lodge. The rest of the day is spent at leisure with lunch and dinner included at the lodge.
You will have breakfast before checkout. Today you will be transferred by road back to Kigali Airport in time for your onward flight (the flight should not be earlier than early afternoon to allow for the drive back). You can decide to fly back home or contact us to extend your journey.
