Teaching Programs

Participants assist teachers, support classroom activities, and engage learners through reading, sports, creative arts, and basic computer training. Volunteers also take part in school outreach activities that focus on education awareness and mentorship for children and youth.

Medical, Nursing & Midwifery Hospital Experience

Gain hands‑on exposure to healthcare delivery in a low‑resource setting, ideal for students and early‑career professionals seeking meaningful clinical insight and global health experience.

Participants will be based in government and mission health facilities and will have opportunities to:

  • Observe and support daily activities on medical, surgical, maternal, and outpatient wards.
  • Shadow qualified doctors, nurses, and midwives to understand clinical practice within the Ugandan health system.
  • Assist with basic non‑invasive tasks in line with your level of training and local regulations.

Social Work and Community Support

Social work placements focus on community engagement and support programmes for children, women, youth, and vulnerable families. Volunteers participate in outreach visits, mentorship activities, awareness campaigns, and community support programmes organised through local partners.

The programme allows participants to understand social challenges within local communities while building meaningful connections with the people they work alongside each day.

Construction and Community Projects

Construction placements involve practical support on community projects such as school improvements, housing support, sanitation projects, and other local development activities. Volunteers work together with community members and local project teams while learning about construction practices within rural and urban communities in Uganda.

IT and Digital Skills Support

IT placements focus on digital learning and technology support within schools, organisations, and community projects. Volunteers may assist with computer training, digital literacy, website support, content creation, and basic technology education for students and youth groups.

The placement also gives participants insight into how technology supports education, communication, and business development within local communities.

Business and Entrepreneurship Programmes

Business placements introduce volunteers to small business operations, entrepreneurship, and community enterprise development in Uganda. Participants may support local businesses, youth groups, women cooperatives, and community projects through mentorship, marketing support, and basic business training activities.

The experience allows volunteers to observe how local enterprises operate within growing communities and changing economic conditions.
